Hotel Monte Vista in Arizona is known for the frequent paranormal activities that are witnessed by almost all guests who stay for the night. Some guests experience a common phenomenon of feeling a cold wind brushing against their skin while walking through the corridors at night time, and a little boy’s voice guiding them from behind.

Other incidents that are reported include the cold hands of a man choking or covering the mouths of the guests, making it almost impossible for them to breathe or a child crying sharply through the night from the basement. Some staff and patrons have also reported a dancing couple dressed in formal wear dancing in the cocktail room.

#2. The Drowning Pool Ghost Story

The term “Drowning pool” has been associated with Lake Huron in Michigan where strange past activities have occurred. The most common belief justifying these activities is that long ago, seven women who were rumored to be purposefully drowned in this pool by tying heavy rocks to them to increase their weight into the lake.

This happened because the inhabitants thought those women were thought to be witches and wanted to test their beliefs by seeing if the women would drown or float. People believe that their spirits still haunt the lake and they often encounter shadows coming up on the surface without any concrete proof or ripples or bubbles.

#3. The Lady In White

The story of “The lady in white” at Stow Lake is similar to the forms in which female ghosts are usually portrayed in the stereotypical movies. People have reported having encountered a woman in the Stow Lake typically during the night time dressed in all white.

It is reported that in the early 1900s a young mother had brought her baby to the park in a stroller and stopped at a bench to rest. It was there she began talking to another woman, where the stroller rolled into the lake. The mother did not notice and eventually realized her baby was missing.

Horrified, this mother searched the park and was last seen going into the lake herself.

Some say she still haunts the lake to this day still looking for her baby.

#4. Family Troubles

This ghost story dates back in 2011 and was publicly known in 2014 when a woman named Latoya Ammons along with her mother and three children moved into a house that would haunt their lives.

Every member of the family witnessed to have seen each family member behaving strangely around their house; some of them were being thrown from one corner to the other, some were seen climbing up the walls at hours of the day, and every doctor that came in to treat the family thinking that it was only a hallucination were sent off by some creepy voices of these children and never dared to return.

There have been several reports submitted on this incident; one said that a nine-year-old boy always had a weird smile on his face and climbed the wall facing his back!

#5. The Watcher

This creepy story started taking place in 2014 as a couple brought their new home in New Jersy. Though it has not yet been found whether there was a ghost behind all the actions or just a man trying to scare the family off from their resident.

Before the couple moved in they decided to do some renovations and soon after they received their first letter from an unknown source now referred to as “the watcher”. This watcher claimed that he has been endowed with the responsibility of watching over the house and is anticipating the “Second Coming.”

One letter reportedly sent said:

“Will the young blood play in the basement? Or are they too afraid to go down there alone? I would be very afraid if I were them. It is far away from the rest of the house. If you were upstairs you would never hear them scream.”

The couple eventually sold the house and sold their popular story to Netflix.
